Obituary of Rickey Skains

Funeral services for Rickey Skains, age 64, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Revs. Rubin Weaver and Paul Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Farmerville, LA. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Skains, a retired employee of G.P. in Crossett, AR and member of Faith Baptist Church, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam war and recipient of two Purple Hearts. His pride and joy was his two grandchildren. He also received great pleasure through helping others by using his various talents, such as welding and building. Mr. Skains is survived by his wife, Peggy Skains; son, Chad Fisher and wife Shelley of Bastrop, LA; mother, Linnie Mae Skains of Farmerville, LA; sister, Judy Dison of Farmerville, LA; two brothers, Kim Skains and wife Gloria and Mickey Skains both of Farmerville, LA; two Grandchildren, Madison Fisher and Zoey Fisher and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Arley Skains. Serving as pallbearers are: Daniel Watt, Dan Hickingbottom, Mickey Wayne Skains, Christopher Lee, Johnny Legg and Matt Rasmussen. Honorary pallbearers are: Stan Bearden, Jimmy Cole and the Deacons of Faith Baptist Church.
