Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Rose Herrington Sims, age 73, will be held 2:30 p.m.Friday, April 26, 2013 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post officiating.
Mrs. Sims, a homemaker and a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Mrs. Sims was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church and she loved to fish. Mrs. Sims is preceded in death by her parents, Ponce Deleon and Eva Herrington; three brothers, P.D. Herrington, Jackie Herrington, and Marvin Herrington.
Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband, Milton O. Sims; a daughter, Joanna Faith Sims Brandon and husband John of Fairhope, AL; a son, Jackie O. Sims and wife Jane of Mer Rouge, LA; a sister, Algenia Herrington McKee of Bastrop, LA; a brother, Paul Herrington of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren, Jessica Everett, Gabrielle Sims Nicolle, Arcole Brandon, Eva Roseanna Brandon, Ravenna Brandon; a great granddaughter, Emma Everett; and a great grandson, Jack Clifton Nicolle.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home
