Obituary of Carol Lee Kilpatrick

Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Kilpatrick, age 83, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, May 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Lilly and Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Kilpatrick, a former teacher at Eastside Elementery and retired social worker with the Louisiana State Department of Welfare, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church for 61 years. Mrs. Kilpatrick enjoyed sewing for many years and was a member of a local homemakers club and the Sunny South Chapter of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Kilpatrick of Duluth, GA; son, Carl Kilpatrick of Milton, WA; sister, Mary Vercher of New Iberia, LA; grandchildren, Coty Kilpatrick Thompson and husband Edwin of Tacoma, WA, Callie Ann Kilpatrick of Tacoma, WA and Austin Carl Kilpatrick and wife Trinelle of Puyallup, WA. She was also expecting the birth of two great grandchildren. Mrs. Kilpatrick is preceded in death by her husband, Zuma Kilpatrick; parents, Oscar and Ellen Vallery and a sister, Norma Thomas. Serving as pallbearers will be: Austin Carl Kilpatrick, Johnny Lindeman, Carl Brodnax, Jim Hayes, Bruce Davidson, Harry Lilly and Mike Moore. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Carlos Hernandez and Jim Wilson.
