Obituary of Edwin J. Harper

Funeral services for Edwin J. Harper, age 76, of Mer Rouge are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday October 20, 2005, at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Townsend & Rev. Jerry Shows officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday October 19, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Mr. Harper passed away Saturday October 15, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a retired employee of International Paper. He was a member of International Paper's Quarter Century Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, William & Martha Harper; sister, Florence Nesbitt; and sister-in-law, Jean Harper. Mr. Harper is survived by his wife, Gloria Harper; two daughters, Debbie Harper of Mer Rouge and Tamie Fehrenbach & husband Jay of Bastrop; sister, Grace Denmon & husband Obie of Jefferson, TX; two brothers, Mr. & Mrs. James Harper of Shreveport, and Larry Harper & wife Ann of Seneca, S.C.; grandchildren, Tamatha Sanders of Collinston, Tommy J. Cooper II of Bastrop, Alison Fehrenbach of Baton Rouge, and Jason Fehrenbach of Baton Rouge; great granddaughter, Jaislyn Sanders of Collinston; and sister-in-law, Mearl Trichell of Oak Grove.
