Obituary of George "Red" Westbrook Kinnaird

George "Red" Westbrook Kinnaird was born March 27, 1920 and passed away June 13, 2013 at the Riverbend Nursing Home in Belle Chasse, LA. He was 93 years old. Mr. Kinnaird was retired from Gulf Oil in Venice, LA. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is the father of Georgie Whorton (Mike), Frances Tomplait (Kenneth), Gerald Kinnaird (Gina), Ronnie Kinnaird (Rosalind), and Bonnie Gasquet (Bruce). Grandfather of Steve Whorton (Charene), Susie Allison (Tony), Traci, Loretta, Cherie Tomplait, Trey Kinnaird (Kim), Caleb Kinnaird, Kendall Kinnaird, Jamie Madere (Gene) and Jeanne Hutchinson (Jamie). Great grandfather to 13. Also uncle to many nieces and nephews, and former husband of LaVerne Barlow Kinnaird. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emma Westbrook and Neadom Thomas Kinnaird; brothers, Thomas Easter, Robert Neadom "Booster", Henry Roy, Newton, and Julian Jewel Kinnaird; and sisters, Bonnie Doles and Lois Grubs. Visitation will be held 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Extra Cemetery.
