Obituary of Elton E. Boyer

Funeral services for Mr. Elton E. Boyer, age 86, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Sanders, Rev. Jeff May, and Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Boyer, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a retired employee from the City of Bastrop. He was a member of White Avenue Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmette and Exer Boyer; brothers, Johnny, James and a sister, Lorene; granddaughter, Cheri Mitchell and son-in-law, David Beebe. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Julia Sanders Boyer; three daughters, Judy Davis of Columbia, LA, Connie Sears of Bastrop, LA, Bobbie Beebe of Bastrop, LA; sister, Narvis Robertson of Farmerville, LA; brother, T.C. Boyer & wife Willie Mae of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren, Kim Wilson, Tammy Whitehead, Rachael Templeton, Chris Beebe, Niki Potter; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of other Sanders family. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Beebe, Cory Jones, Jamie Davis, Chris Potter, Todd Whitehead, Mike Templeton. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Williams, John Walker, George Perry, Dr. E.D. Baker, G.B. Scroggins and Max Mullins.
