John Lamar Lang - Owner

Lamar is a Bastrop native and is the son of John and Johnnie Lang who reside here in Bastrop. He is married to Lisa Book Lang and they have 2 children, Lauren and Ashton. They are members of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.

Lamar has been associated with Golden Funeral Home since 1986 and became one of the owners in April 2008. He is a graduate of Prairie View Academy, attented Louisiana Tech University and graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service as a licensed funeral director/embalmer, insurance agent and monument agent. Lamar is involved in many community projects and organizations including Kiwanis International. Todd Reed - Owner/Funeral Director/Embalmer/Insurance Agent

Todd began his work in funeral service in 1993 and has devoted his life to assisting others through his work. Todd became one of the owners in April 2008. He is a graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service as a licensed funeral director/embalmer and has continued to expand his services to include insurance and monument sales.

He and his wife Angela Hayes Reed have two children, Abigayle and Matthew. Todd is also a U.S. Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War and is proud of his military service. He is a member of the local Scott L. Hood Post #51 of the American Legion and the Boone McDowell Post #2277 of the VFW. "I believe that the service we provide is very important and feel honored to be able to assist someone during difficult times."

Carmen Post - Owner/Funeral Director/Insurance & Monument Agent

  Carmen has been associated with Goldens since 1998, having previously worked in our flower and gift shop. During this time she has become a familiar face to many of you. She made the decision to join our staff of funeral directors and in 2003 and completed her education and is now a licensed funeral director. April 2008 brought about another change as she became one of the owners of Goldens.

She is married to Tim Post and they have one son, Jacob, who along with his wife Courtney, have blessed them with a beautiful granddaughter named Adilyn. Carmen is a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she enjoys participating in the many church functions. She is also an active member of the Bastrop Kawanis club.

Tim Post - Owner/Funeral Director/Insurance & Monument Agent


Tim's life has been centered around ministry, having served as a Southern Baptist minister for over forty years. Since becoming an owner of Goldens in April of 2008, his ministry has extended even further as he has taken an active role in the workings of the funeral home. Tim is a 1981 graduate of Louisiana College, as well as a licensed funeral director, pre-need and monument agent.  He is also pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, where he began serving in July of 1992.

Dave Sanson - Funeral Director/Embalmer/Insurance Agent

Dave is a resident of Spencer, Louisiana. He is married to Janet Sanson and they have two children, Kacey and Katelyn. They are members of Crestview Baptist Church in Farmerville, where they are active in many programs of the church. Dave is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, insurance and monument agent. He has been in funeral service since 1988 and is a 1994 graduate of Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. "I have a love for people and have a great desire to help people at a time of great loss in the death of a loved one. To me, the funeral business is a ministry that I believe we can reach others in a time of need."

Jacob Post - Funeral Director/Embalmer/Insurance Agent/Crematory Operator


Jacob Post is a member of the caring staff of Golden Funeral Home. Jacob is a 2006 graduate of Prairie View Academy. In November 2009, Jacob completed his mortuary science education at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and is a licensed embalmer and funeral director in Louisiana and Arkansas. Jacob looks forward to a long career of assisting families at one of the most difficult times in their lives. Feel free to contact him with any questions you might have. Jacob is a life-long resident of Bastrop and is an active member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Bastrop Optimist Club. He is married to Courtney Williams Post and they have two daughters, Adilyn and Emerlyn. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing.

Angela Reed - Owner

Angela along with her husband Todd, became owners of Golden's in 2008. They have two children, Abby and Matt.

Phyllis Allred - Office Manager / Accounting

Phyllis is a resident of Bastrop. She is married to Don Allred. Phyllis has many responsibilties at Goldens, and is one of our most valuable employees. We have been blessed to have her with us since 2000.

Vera Cox - Licensed Floral Designer

Vera has been a resident of Bastrop since 1966. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Mosley of Collinston. She has been a Louisiana licensed florist since 1985. Her hobbies include, deer hunting, working with her computer and geneology. Vera has three children, Kelly Gunter, Larry "Bubba" Cox and April Lester.

She has been with Goldens since December of 1990 and enjoys using her God given talents to bring comfort and joy to others.

Troy Crumley - Cemetery Services Foreman

Troy is a native of Bastrop and is the son of Willie and Beth Crumley who also reside here in Bastrop. He is married to June Ann McCoy Crumley. He was employed as a Cemetery Foreman for the City of Bastrop for 15 years.

He enjoys riding motorcycles. He has been with Goldens since 1997.

Courtney Post - Gift Shop Manager/Decorator/CSR

Courtney has been employed at Goldens since March 2013. She is a life long resident of Bastrop and is married to Jacob Post. Courtney and Jacob have two daughters, Adilyn and Emerlyn. Her hobbies are spending time with her friends and family, shopping, and traveling. She graduated from Prairie View Academy in 2007 and is an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.

                           Tracie Gross - Florist
Traci Gross has been a resident of Bastrop, La for 21 years. She has been faithfully married for 23 years to her loving husband, Keith Gross.
Traci has 2 children. One boy, Christian and a girl, Emilee.

Her hobbies include spending time with her family, reading, and going to church at New Friendship Baptist Church.

Katherine Tubbs - Hostess

Katherine Tubbs is most probably the first person one will see when attending a visitation at Golden Funeral Home. Her face is familiar to most everyone in the Bastrop area. If not, then introduce yourself to her at the next visitation.

Katherine is an active member, Sunday School teacher and pianist at the Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. She has two sons, Mike and Steve, as well as four grandchildren.

Ruth Jenkins - Hostess

Ruth has been a resident of Bastrop for the past 20 years. She was the former owner of the local Sears store for ten years. Ruth has three children, Bruce, Steve and Susan.

She is a member of Riverside Baptist Church and her favorite activities are grocery shopping, cooking & canning, working in her yard and walking. Ruth has worked at Goldens for ten years.
