Robert, Bette, and family: I was so sad to learn of your Mom's death but comforted to KNOW she is celebating in her heavenly home with friends and loved one who greeted her there! As I was growing up, she was a major influence in my life. I will always be grateful for her wisdom and love and the fact that she spent many hours renforcing what I was taught at home ... to love the Lord. I know you will greatly miss your Mom and I pray a lifetime of wonderful memories will bring you comfort.

Robert and Betty I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Bertice. Dad passed away January 2nd and I know it is so hard to see them go. But we will all get back together agin in Heaven one day. Don't you know uncle Otis was proud to get to hug her again. Sorry I could not come but I just heard about it last night. Love you both Dickie

When I think of all of my Sunday School teachers as a child, the one that influenced me the most was Bertice Townsend. She taught me many years,from elementary to junior high, and she was always prepared,loving and kind. I don't think I've ever known anyone with a sweeter smile and when she greeted you, her eyes just seemed to sparkle!! I'm thankful that she is once again united with her precious husband, Otis. They were such a Godly couple and their love for one another and God was evident in their daily lives. Robert & Betty Rose, I wish I could be there this weekend to give you a hug, but we are in Dallas for our grandson's birthday. You were blessed to have had such a Godly mother!! This was an amazing woman. I loved her and love her so much. There are no words to express the loss and yet she is clearly not only in a better place. She is in Heaven. What better words could be spoken about a person. God bless Bertice and Otis Townsend.
