Funeral services for Mrs. Bertice Townsend, 91, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Dalyn Helbling officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Townsend, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care. She was a member of First Church of God, where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and had been a Sunday School teacher.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Otis Townsend; granddaughter, April Raymond; and three brothers, Irvin Hart, Ellis Hart, and Buck Hart.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by her daughter, Bette Colley and husband Joe of Tulsa, OK; son, Robert Townsend and wife Linda of West Monroe, LA; sister, Eva Mattie Ford of Bastrop, LA; brother, Houston Hart of Hamburg, AR; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
