Mom, you were an inspiration for me and Neal. Neither of us will ever be the person that you were. I think that we are both good sons because of the way you raised us, but we will never be able to live the life you lived. You were loved by so many people. You taught us so many things but we need you to be here to finish the job. Words cannot express how much we will miss you. Your Youngest Son, Pee Wee

Don't know who in heaven was in charge of mowing and weeding the flowers but they just got replaced by a wonderful gardener. I love and miss you so much miss Sara. What a great friend you have been to me and I have learned so much from you.

Ms. Virginia will be missed by so many people. She was a wonderful person and friend. I will miss talking with her about flowers and her calls to the church about the condition other people were in. She always was very concerned about the sick of the congregations of Bastrop First Church and Reily-Collinston. I will deeply miss you Ms Virginia. Love, Deborah

Dear Neal, "Pee Wee" and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. You are in my thoughts at this time. No matter how much of a hurry I was in when going to and fro from Collinston and Bastrop,(over the years) I always slowed down as I neared Ms. DeForest house to look in the garden and enjoy the beauty. It always made me feel good. Your Mom always had a ready smile and sweet word. She will be missed. Sincerely, Paulette

Your family in is my prayers. I knew Mrs. DeForest from the insurance office. She was always such a dear and sweet person and everytime my family would go in, she was always so cheerful and always had alittle toy or something to give the kids.

Mrs. DeForest was one of the kindest and most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. We go back a long time when State Farm and the Chamber of Commerce were located in the Louisiana Motor Hotel building. When I began working at the AgCenter we continued seeing each other during her many visits to the office to ask questions about her flowers. She was such a lovely and beautiful woman.
