To Joyce Life is like having a meal at Mammy's house. As I remember, it was always a gala affair when we all got together. With an abundance of good food prepared by some of the best chefs who ever entered a kitchen. Fresh garden vegetables from Mammy's garden and platters of beautifully fried chicken. Us kids already had our eye on the pulley-bone waiting only for the conclusion of the blessing. Forks were like bayonets at the ready. We kids were already being cautioned by the parents that there was not going to be any of that. Even so, the Amen seemed to start the contest. June usually lost but was comforted by someone who offered to share with her. Everyone settled down and we enjoyed a magnificent meal. But there was something we all knew, was to come. For those of us who did not have to watch our weight, there was the main event, DESSERT. The best was yet to come. It was always, not one, but a multi flavored bunch of concoctions decorated beautifully with nuts and whipped cream. And now Joyce, you are enjoying the best there is to come and you even won the pulley-bone. Enjoy it and be blessed. Our love: Edwin & Betty
