Obituary of Sr. Windsor

Funeral services for John Rolfe Windsor, Sr., age 71, of Oak Ridge, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday July 5, 2009 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Claude Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Church of the Redeemer Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday July 5, 2009 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the church. Mr. Windsor was a retired Agricultural Pilot, and a member of Oak Ridge Methodist Chruch. He was an extrodinary musician who loved his music. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He never met a stranger and was a southern gentleman. Mr. Windsor is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Windsor; and a son, James Tyson "Ty" Windsor. Mr. Windsor is survived by three sons, John R. Windsor, Jr. and wife Piper of Cordova, TN, Jeff Windsor and wife Christina of Dripping Springs, TX, George E. Young and wife Puddin of Oak Ridge, LA; one sister, Bonnie Marie Porch, and husband Bill of Atlanta, GA; one brother Roy C. Windsor, Jr. and wife Sally of Monroe, LA; and six grandchildren, Jay Windsor, Josh Windsor, Henry Windsor, Charlie Windsor, Jonathan Young and Ann Marie Young. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Young, Gil White, Johnny McAdams, Mike Barham, Scotty Meador, Phillip Williams, Bill Wilson and Bob Massingill. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Standley, Jim Foster and Allen Qualls. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or The Episcopal Cemetery Fund in Oak Ridge.
