Obituary of Etta Middleton Mercer

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Etta Middleton Mercer, age 90, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Augsut 4, 2011 at Christ Church Cemetery with Bro. R.B. Mercer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Mercer, a homemaker, enjoyed her family. She was able to keep up with the latest events concerning all of her relatives. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and was a very good gardener. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy M. Erlandson and husband Bruce of Millington, TN; three sons, Robert W. Mercer and wife Frances of Proctor, AR, Raymond P. Mercer and wife Bunny of Proctor, AR, Merel K. Mercer and wife Laurenna of Chandler, AZ; twelve grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Mrs. Mercer is preceded in death by her husband, Iley I. "Red" Mercer and a daughter, Kathleen A. Cates. Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Paul Mercer, Craig Mercer, Joel Mercer, Marcus Westcott, Joshua Johnson, Alan Hodges and Chris Mercer.
