Obituary of Brother Jimmie L. Taylor

Funeral services for Brother Jimmie L. Taylor, age 71, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA with Brother Robert McDaniel, Brother Emile Rousseau, and Brother Eugene Howie officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, LA. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home. Brother Taylor, was a minister who served the Lord faithfully for over fifty years in churches in Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, and Texas. He was the current pastor of Gardner Baptist Church in Hamburg, AR. He is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Betty Taylor; his daughter, Susan Roberts and husband Steven of Bastrop, LA; his two sons Michael Taylor and wife Diana of Greeneville, TN and Mark Taylor and wife Kim of Farmington, AR; his sister, Peggy Cartwright of Culloden, WV; his brother, Jerry Taylor and wife Bonnie of Mena, AR; seven grandchildren, Morgan Wilmore, Drake Wilmore, Jenna Cate Roberts, Anna Taylor, Abby Taylor, Jon Taylor, and Rebekah Taylor; special sisters and brothers-in-law Olin Hill and wife Margaret and Jim Locke and wife Anna Joyce; and several nieces and nephews. Brother Taylor is preceded in death by his mother, Lois Matthews; his sister, Dayma Steele; his brother-in-law, Roger Cartwright; and grandchildren, Zachary and Steven Taylor. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Burns, Jerry Deville, Royce Swain, Jeff Harrison, Edgar Haynie, James Sled, Earl McCrory and Dennis Byrd. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bob Rallinson, Elmer Sparks, Glen Howie, James Cummins, Larry Goodwin, Gary Booker, The Tuesday Morning Coffee Club, and the Gardner Baptist Men's Ministry.
