Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Shirley P. "Patsy" King, age 88, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014 at MerRouge Cemetery with Rev. Ron Vollmar officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. King, a member of MerRouge Baptist Church and a past worthy matron with the Eastern Star, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at Oak Woods Home for the Elderly.
She is survived by three children, Patricia King Kitchens and Rev. Joe Kitchens of Mississippi, George "Bobby" R. King III and wife Debra Carter King of Minden, LA, Cynthia T. King of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Dr. Ronald Andrew Kitchens and wife Amy of Sandy Hook, MS, Robin King Rayner and husband Scotty of Minden, LA, Hannah Sirman and husband Brandon of Natchitoches, LA; four great grandchildren, John Clayton Kitchens, Joy Catherine Kitchens,Taylor Jordan Rayner, Mollie Sirman and one on the way, Jacob Christian Kitchens; two sisters, Lillian Curry, Mildred Chandler and a brother, Harry Hartman.
Mrs. King is preceded in death by her husband, George R. King, Jr.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers the family s memorials in honor of Mrs. King be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, Masonic Children's Home in Alexandria, LA, or a charity of their choice.
