Obituary of Irma Jean Degges

Funeral services for Ms. Irma Jean Degges are scheduled for 2:30 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2014, at First Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Maurice Lednicky and Rev. Ezra Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon at the church. Ms. Degges, age 85, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014. She loved the Lord and faithfully served Him by teaching Sunday School at First Assembly for many years. She had the longest membership at First Assembly, as well. She was a retired school teacher with the Morehouse Parish school system. Ms. Degges is preceded in death by her parents, C. E. Degges and Robbie Harrison Degges; brothers, Leon Degges and wife Maggie, and Fulton Degges and wife Verla; and sisters, Agnes Hopkins, and Leola Rice and husband Harlon. Ms. Irma is survived by sisters, Betty Goodwin and husband Bobby of Bastrop and Earline and husband Earl Brown, of Bastrop; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Tidwell of Lafayette, LA, Gayle Gregory and husband Bill of Bastrop, Dan Degges and wife Bridgett of Germany, Toni McKee and husband Wayne of Denham Springs, LA, Karen Standridge of Nacogdoches, TX, Loretta Cammack and husband George of Nacogdoches, TX, Ronnie Rice of Longview, TX, Arla Orrels and husband Jake of Bastrop, Rebecca Isom and husband Scott of Crowley, TX, Kevin Goodwin and wife Dawn of Bastrop, and Robby Goodwin of Bastrop; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Rice, Kevin Goodwin, Robby Goodwin, Dillon Goodwin, Josh Goodwin, Greg Gregory, and John Anderson.
