Funeral services for Mrs. Reita Bridges Cockrell, age 93 of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 12:30 PM at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cockrell, retired employee of the Morehouse Parish Health Unit and Oak Woods Home for the Elderly, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014. She was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her nieces, Elizabeth Anne Schneekloth, Ora Jean Smith and Wanda Sue Ister; great niece, Traci Kaye Schneekloth; great nephew; Ruben Lee Moore; granddaughter, Bianca Ferris; grandson, Rodney Stringer; great grandsons, Chase Stringer, Garrett Ferris; great granddaughters, Tatum Stringer, Delaney Ferris and a host of extended family.
Mrs. Cockrell is preceded in death by husbands, Milton W. "Cat" Cockrell, J.P. Stringer and son, Wilfred Rodney Stringer.
Aunt Reita was a very special and loved aunt. She will be missed dearly.
