Praying for all of the Lindsays and Hoffords. Grandma Lindsay was a true matriarch! She was devoted to her family and God. I remember her reading her Bible and always praying for others. Sadly, it has been many years since I have been to Louisiana. I love you all and think of you often. Like my siblings I remember well our visits to see Grandma and Grandpa. Aleta of course isn't a lot older than me and we had a lot of good times. One funny thing I remember is being so surprised that there was no TV at their house, but I never missed it. I loved the music and singing we all did together (even if the skunks did interrupt every now and then), I remember being so impressed by the music my uncles would create. Grandma's voice was always there raised in praise for God and Jesus, even if she was cooking she would join in from the kitchen! :) What wonderful days those were and what a loving, faithful women she was! Everyone who knew her was truly blessed. Love and miss you all.

i hope you don't mind if I send my condolences on the passing of Dovie. E.L. Lindsay was my uncle. He was married to my mother's sister before DOVIE. Barbara Fectig and Eddie Lindsay are my cousins. The most unusual thing is that I had never known anyone named Dovie except my own mother. It is an unusual name, I wish I had been able to know your loving grandmother, mother, aunt, she looks like a very lovely lady, Barbara s daughter, Monique was telling me what a wonderful grandmother she was. So very sorry for your loss. Mary Kellogg

My condolences to the entire Lindsay Clan and Hofford family. I know Grandma Lindsay is visiting with Dad, Grandpa and Cousin Lance in heaven and is truly home. My only regret is that so much time has passed since I last saw her and the rest of the family. As we grow and start families of our own, we get immersed in our own daily activities but I want you all to know that I think of her and the rest of the family often. I still have very fond memories of visiting her and Grandpa, snapping peas and shucking corn on the porch, playing Domino's, playing the spoons as we all sat around and made music, and her tender ministrations of all the wasp stings and bumps and bruises we acquired while running around like maniacs. At the center of it all was Grandma Lindsay. I will continue to carry these fond memories with me and cherish them for the rest of my days. If any of you find yourselves in Virginia, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I love you all.
May she rest in peace.
Michael

Oh how I love my Grandma Lindsay! Such a sweet, kind spirit and one of the most Godly women that I have ever known. As a child, I loved spending time at her house in the summer. Some of my best childhood memories were made there. Gathering eggs, riding horses, playing in the woods, being chased by wasps (while trying to gather said eggs). I am thinking of her today and all of the family. I miss you all and wish that I could be there. I know God is wrapping you all in peace and strength and love!

Mom Lindsay has been a part of my life for almost 60 years. I married her step-son Eddie Lindsay in April 1956. She and all of her children have been a family to me. I never felt like an in-law. I love her very much and will greatly miss talking with her on the phone and seeing her whenever it was possible. She always encouraged me and lifted me up. In many ways, we were soul mates, because some aspects of our lives were very similar I know Mom is in heaven now singing God's praises as she always did, but now she is a part of the "heavenly choir". Rest in peace, Mom. You fought the good fight. Earline

I couldn't have spent that many years being in the Lindsay family and having 3 children bearing the Lindsay name and not be heart broken that Mrs. Lindsay is no longer with us. I am rejoicing that she has reached her Heavenly reward. I hope you who remain will remember that each and every day. There is no doubt in my mind that she is sitting at the feet of our Savior rejoicing and praising God. Please accept my condolences and know that I am lifting you all up during this difficult journey. You are all in my heart forever! Please don't forget!
