I'm So sorry for the loss of Helen. She was always fun to be around in school. She was so much help when my Dad passed. She helped me understand some legalities. God bless.

I was a cousin to Joe Tubbs. I had met Helen when they were married and the girls were little. I wasn't acquainted really well with Helen as we lived in MO, but I do remember meeting her on a couple of occasions. I just wanted to let the girls know I regret that she has passed away, but know when someone is dealing with this kind of illness, it is the best for them to pass on. Though, it does leave a void in your lives, I know you prefer her to go on rather than to linger dealing with the pain of the disease, Know that at the same time, I can relate to the loss of losing one's mother as mine has been gone since Dec. 1999. Know that you all are in my thoughts as you say goodbye to your mom.

Helen was an extraordinary woman with an enormous heart. Surely she was on the ZIP LINE to heaven as soon as she passed Saturday. God would want her there right away.
It was my good fortune to meet Helen in 2012, soon after she and my good friend Gerald were married. I was traveling by car from Atlanta through Louisiana and stopped at their home to see them. I planned only a short visit. Well.... Helen had another plan. Even though it was a week day, she had prepared a huge meal of ham (my favorite), chicken and enough side dishes to accompany any good Thanksgiving feast. As I came to spend more time with her, I learned that that's just the way she was.
Because of her generous soul, I came to call her St. Helen, not knowing that she would eventually be diagnosed with rapidly spreading cancer. This is such a fitting name because of the generosity of spirit and kindness she always exhibited to everyone around her.
Only a week before her death, she sent me a text message stating that she was worried about Gerald and that she would write me later with more thoughts. I suspect this was one of the last things she wrote before being to weak to communicate again. Even at the end of her life, she was still concerned about others first and foremost. This was a hallmark to how she lived her life.
We have all lost a dear friend and the world will not be the same without this great, great lady. I am sure she is in heaven now smiling down on all of us. May she rest in peace until someday we can join her. And what a party we will have!

I'm so sorry this has happened to you all. You never think about about having to bury them at such a young age. It's the next worse thing to having to bury your own baby. But you will heal but you are going to need each other more than ever. Love to you all and prayers.
Melanie....you can't carry it alone. Take the help others give. Love you!!!
