Obituary of Allie Van Cleave
Please share a memory of Allie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Allie Lonnie Hale Van Cleave, 94 years old, went home to be with Jesus, on August 6th, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Green Valley Healthcare and Rehab in North Richland Hills, TX, where she had resided for 7 ½ years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, August 10, 2015 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Hale officiating. Visitation begins at 10am at the church.
She was born December 9th, 1920, in Old Floyd, LA, the daughter of Allie Irene McCandlish and Louis Howard Hale. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Lee Van Cleave and son Lawrence Wayne Van Cleave.
Allie was a hard working homemaker with many wonderful qualities, but the one outstanding characteristic was her Christ-like example of sacrificial love exhibited to her family and others. She also exemplified Christ toward her patients for many years as a licensed vocational nurse. For the past 25 years, she was wheelchair bound due to a traumatic spinal injury, yet endured and overcame many obstacles with grace, joy and hope, while continuously living out her faith.
She is survived by one brother and his wife, Billy and Susie Hale; 5 children and their spouses, Iris and Gerald Sanders, Hilda Lee Adams, Laura and Jim Rutter, Paul Van Cleave, and O.H. and Marilynn Van Cleave; 19 grandchildren Michael Glover, Robert Glover, William David Mathews, Patricia Bennett, Michelle Mason, Tracy Arlington, Jeff Van Cleave, Bryan Glover, Denise Green, Lee Rutter, Diane Shipley, Adrian Van Cleave, Stephanie McKnight, Ryan Van Cleave, Beverly Mayo,
Adam Van Cleave, Melanie Van Cleave, Chris Van Cleave, Michael Van Cleave, and their spouses; 36 great grandchildren and spouses, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Interment will be Monday, August 10 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rosehill #1 in Bastrop, LA.
