Obituary of Douglas S. Evans, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas S. Evans, Sr., are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Evans passed away Monday, August 10, 2015, at the age of 72. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the VFW. Mr. Evans also worked with the 4H Club for many years. He is survived by his wife, Pat Evans; children, Shawn Beal and husband Joel of Bastrop, LA, Andrea Martin and husband Greg of Bastrop, LA, Erin Stewart and husband Brian of Bastrop, LA, and Doug Evans, Jr. and wife Stormy of Bastrop, LA; brother, Jerry Don Evans and wife Virginia of Mansfield, LA; grandchildren, Samantha Russ, Amanda Nicholson, Chad Hall, Justin Martin, Michael Martin, Marleigh Martin, Leythan and Emilee Stewart, Gaige West, Chase and Alec Stewart; nine great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Blazier and Kathy McDonald; brother-in-law, Andy Ritchie and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Evans is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Carl Evans; mother, Willie Jefcoat Evans; brother, Billy Evans; sisters, Marcielle Pruitt and Milton Dean Landry; niece, Susan Ann Hiatt; nephew, Brett Allen Hiatt. Serving as pallbearers will be Joel Beal, Greg Martin, Brian Stewart, John Griffin, Mark Evans, Bubba Simmons, Chris Cockrell and Eddie James. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicky Russ and Rusty Nicholson.
