Funeral services for Ms. Betty Caffery Jones, age 61, are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, October 10, 2015, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 AM until 10 AM service time.
Ms. Jones, a Morehouse Parish School Board retiree, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church. Ms. Jones was a great mother, Nana and the best friend anyone could ask for.
She is survived by a very special good friend, David Hogan; daughters, Wanda Barton and Penny McGurk; sisters, Barbara Burge and Verna Deal; grandchildren, Raigan Malone, Dwayne Malone, Cody McGurk, Dalton McGurk and Caleb McGurk; and two great grandchildren on the way.
Ms. Jones is preceded in death by her mother, Annie Mae Caffery; sons, Horace Barton, Jr. and Bobby Barton; brothers, Larry Caffery and Buddy Caffery; and husband, Vernon Jones.
