Obituary of Coy Hofford, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Coy Hofford, Sr., age 88, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday October 12, 2015 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Seth Williamson and Rev. David Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Hofford, a retired Bleach Plant Operator, passed away Friday October 9, 2015. He was a member of the Lighthouse Church in White Hall, AR. Mr. Hofford served his country during the Korean War. He lived the last fifteen years in Sheridan, AR and loved gardening. He retired from International Paper Company after forty six years of service. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Myrtis Chunn Hofford; daughter, Carolyn Henderson and husband Doyle of Sheridan, AR; son, Coy Hofford, Jr. and wife Karen of Petit Jean Mountain, AR; brothers, Wilburn Hofford of Dewyville, TX, David Hofford of Bastrop, Gene Hofford of Houston, TX; sisters, Margie O'Neal and Pat Dial, both of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Myrtis Marie McCalister and husband Preston, Stephanie Hooker and husband Marc, Joshua Hofford and wife Cassie; great grandchildren, Chase McCalister and wife Morgan, Kyle McCalister, Cory McCalister, Lauren Hooker, Sarah Hooker, Alyssa Hofford and Fianna Hofford. Mr. Hofford is preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Frank Hofford; brother, Huey Hofford; sisters, Mildred, Dovie Lee and Juanita. Pallbearers will be; Josh Hofford, Preston McCalister, Marc Hooker, Bobby Fife, Kyle McCalister and Chase McCalister. Cory McCalister will serve as honorary pallbearer.
