Obituary of Michael Stephen O'Neal

Funeral services for Mr. Michael Stephen O'Neal are scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Meridian Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2015, from 5 - 8 PM at the church. Michael O'Neal, age 63, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 1. He was a Finished Goods Technician for Georgia Pacific Corporation. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris O'Neal Valentine; his father, George S. O'Neal; and his step-father, Ervin Valentine. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane O'Neal; mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Leona Middlebrooks; son, Caleb Michael O'Neal and wife Jing of Baton Rouge, LA; step-son, Gregory Griswould of Bastrop, Best Buddy, Jonah Cole Middlebrooks of Bastrop; sisters, Debbie Zimmerle and husband Jay of Denham Springs, LA, and Gayle Fugler and husband Ken of Brookhaven, MS; brother, Gregory John O'Neal and wife Ann of Pierre Part, LA; grandchild, Calliope Wunderlin; one grandson, Alistair, on the way; four nieces and two nephews; and two great nieces and four great nephews. Michael was an adventurous person who loved his family and his church family at the Meridian Baptist Church. He was also an avid deer hunter and an ultimate LSU Tiger fan, as well as, being known as a very generous person; he was a peacemaker, and loving family man. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Herman White, Michael Hinton, Mike Eddy, George Terrell, Johnny Terrell, and Jerry Slayton. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Kinny, Roby Spaulding.
