Obituary of John Raymond Wallace

Funeral services for Mr. John Raymond Wallace are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2015, at the Pine Grove Church of God, with Rev. Doug Edwards and Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow at the Stevenson Cemetery. A time of visitation will be at the church on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Mr. Wallace, age 76, a retired truck driver and mechanic, and a resident of Bastrop, passed away at his residence on Monday, December 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Gordon and Ida Ilene Wallace; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Celestine Middlebrooks; granddaughter, Angel Wallace; sister, Evelyn Miller; and brother, Gene Wallace. Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife of fifty years, Clair Middlebrooks Wallace; children, John R. Wallace, Jr. and wife Becky of Farmerville, L:; Teresa Frost and husband Adrian of Bastrop; Shelia Lingefelt and husband Jerry of Jones, LA; and Timmy Wallace and wife Alicia of Cameron, LA; siblings, Barney Wallace and wife Martha of Byhalia, MS; Lloyd Wallace of Hamburg, AR; Peggy Deheirt and husband Melvin of Pine Bluff, AR; and Joy Nelson of Crossett, AR; sister-in-law Patsy Wallace of Benton, AR; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and his adored pet Roxie. Serving as pallbearers will be Kirt Harris, Jimmy Dean Kinney, Scotty Fox, Chuck Smith, Keith Fox, and Charlie Harris. Honorary pallbearers are Blake Johnston, Allen Reynolds, Joe Reynolds, Mitch Reynolds and Jody Harris. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church of God. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt.
