Obituary of Wayne "Buddy" Curtis Middlebrooks

Funeral service for Wayne "Buddy" Curtis Middlebrooks is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Meridian Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 8, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Meridian Baptist Church.
Mr. Middlebrooks was born December 16, 1920 in Morehouse Parish. He married Leona Rossen on August 18, 1945 and they celebrated 70 years of life together. Out of ten of his siblings, seven of them have celebrated 50th Wedding Anniversaries.
Mr. Middlebrooks loved hunting, fishing, and drinking sweet tea from a tin can. He loved everyone and anytime someone visited him, they left with something he wanted them to have. You never left empty handed. He loved his family and his church and was also known for having had the largest Pine Pile in Morehouse Parish.
Mr. Middlebrooks is survived by his wife, Minnie Leona Middlebrooks; daughter, Mary Jane O'Neal; sisters, Catherine Farrar and Ida Mae Spikes; brother, C.J. Middlebrooks; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Middlebrooks and Barbara Middlebrooks; grandchildren, Gregory John Griswould, Caleb Michael Wunderlin, Jonah Cole Middlebrooks; great grandchild, Calliope Wunderlin; one great grandson on the way, Alistair Wunderlin ; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael O'Neal; parents, Clem B. Middlebrooks and Minnie Harris Middlebrooks; sister, Erlene Stanley; brothers, L.E. Middlebrooks, Bobby Middlebrooks, James Middlebrooks, Lawrence Middlebrooks, and Edward Middlebrooks.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Don Jones, Danny Jones, Darwin "GoGo" Jones, Danny Jordan, Mike Hinton, and Herman White. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Kenny, Kary Stanley, and Norwood Harrison.
