Obituary of Eugene "Son" Parker

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Eugene "Son" Parker, age 94, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Parker, a retired long time employee of International Paper Company and member of New Friendship Baptist Church, passed away Tuesday, Dececember 29, 2015 at the Alpine Guest Care Center in Ruston. He was a deeply religious and moral man of strong faith. His family was very important to him. Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Sandra Moncrief of Arcadia, LA; two sons, James Ron Parker and wife Ester of Moses Lake, WA, Wayne Parker and wife Anita of Monroe, LA; brother, Bennett Parker and wife Brenda of Pine Bluff, AR; five grandchildren, Rod Parker and wife Heather, Lisa Harper, Lesley Tedder and husband Joel, Tracy King and husband Jay, Dana Bass and husband Sonny; ten great grandchildren, Michael and Taylor Parker, Camryn Harper, Jackson and Alex Tedder, Parker and Sawyer King, Brandon, Riley, and Trevor Bass; special love for his nephew, Sidney Little; and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Lois Little Parker; and eight brothers and sisters. The family asks that memorials be made to The Building Fund at New Friendship Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Association in Monroe, LA, or a charity of your choice.
