Funeral service for Mr. Horace Edwin Farrar is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bernice, LA, with Rev. Steve Barrett and Rev. James Grafton officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 1, 2016, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the church. Mr. Farrar, a resident of Bernice, LA, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the age of 81. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bernice, LA, where he served as a Deacon for seven years. Mr. Farrar was a very compassionate person with a servant's heart. He never had anything negative to say about anyone. Horace (Hoss) loved his church, his pastor, and his brother and sisters in Christ. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren and other family was immeasurable. He left no doubt of his love for them. He had a contagious smile and sense of humor; a devout LSU fan and loved his two best friends, Ruby and Tuffy. Mr. Farrar was a retired pipeliner of 50 years and worked all over the world and never met a stranger. Mr. Farrar is preceded in death by his parents, William Farrar and Malda Grafton Farrar. Mr. Farrar is survived by his daughter, Salli Alexander of Ruston, LA; sons, Gregory Edwin Farrar and wife Teresa of Valdosta, GA, and David William Farrar of Bernice, LA; step-son, Mark Kidwell and wife Darcy of Liberty Hill, TX; sisters, Marcia Ann Lee of LaPorte, TX, and Julia Feazell and husband Fred of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Chad, Kimberly, Gabrielle, Pamela, Mary, and Steven; one great grandson, David Andrew and expecting another great grandchild; and a host of other family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Farrar, Chris Feazell, Brian Poole, Jeff Poole, Matthew Grafton, Steven Farrar, and Michael Lunsford. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Sandifer, Bobby Couch, David Darden, Roddie Evans, and Ted Roberts.
