Funeral services for Mr. Donald Wayne Bennett are scheduled for Friday, January 29, 2016, at 10 AM in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Loch Arbor Cemetery. Mr. Bennett passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at Morehouse General Hospital, at the age of seventy-four. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by his parents, L.M. Bennett and Lucy Bolding Bennett.
Survivors include his son, Gary Wayne Bennett: daughter, Karen Roberts and husband Gary; sisters, Barbara Lowery and husband Bruce and Theresa Barthol and husband Billy; brothers, James Bennett and wife Gloria and Michael Bennett and wife Cindy; granddaughter, Whitney Walters and husband Thomas; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Walters and Kaleigh Walters; and his best buddy Charlie.
He was a very good and kind-hearted man who would do anything to help anybody. He never spoke an unkind word about anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bastrop Animal Shelter.
