Marion Virginia Ferguson Yarbrough was born on June 22, 1942 and died on April 8, 2016 in Houston, TX. Marion attended East Side School, Bastrop Junior High School, Bastrop High School, where she graduated in 1960, and later graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Marion is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Virginia Orr Ferguson and grandparents, M.V. Orr and Virginia Murrell Orr, Robert G. Ferguson and Sarah Tucker Ferguson. Marion is survived by her husband, Paul Yarbrough, son, Douglas Yarbrough and wife Bianka; sister, Sara Elizabeth Ferguson Atkins; brother and sister in law, Jim and Annelle Ferguson and their children, Robert Allen Ferguson, John David Ferguson and wife Cherie, Kristen Ferguson Beckler and husband Ryan and their children and other extended and dear family members from the Orr, Ferguson, Burford, LeTard and Tarver families. Visitation will be held at Golden Funeral Home (Bastrop, LA) on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Monday at Mer Rouge Cemetery with Rev. Steve Wilkins officiating. Marion loved nature and all animals. Over the years, she and Paul rescued many dogs and cats and also took care of animals with no homes. She loved to see the bluebonnets in the spring in Texas and the snow geese in Mer Rouge every winter. She was a devout and committed Christian. Marion taught Bible Study Fellowship for several years and was very active in her church. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Houston. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
