My name is Fern Ballard from Hominy, OK. I'm so sorry to hear about Eddie! Eddie and I attended school together through the 10th grade. He was a very good friend in school and very popular...we always attended lots of birthday parties together. I have always thought of Eddie throughout the years wondering where he settled. So surprised he became a Doctor. What a great life and career! Sending love and prayers to his family!

We first met Ed & Carol on a cruise in 2008. It didn't take long become friends with both of them. Being from New Orleans and loving the Tigers, Saints and, in Ed's case, raw oysters made us a match.
My happy thought of Ed is whenever you guys would come to visit Nola & we would meet up for DOZENS of oysters somewhere in the quarter. No, Ed never had A dozen. In fact, it was usually 3 or more. I never met anyone who loved them more than Ed, even me.
At this point in my life, I am battling the same disease that took our good friend & because of the chemo, I cannot have any oysters. However,I will make this promise. As soon as I get the high sign from my doctors, I WILL have SEVERAL dozen of those succulent babies in honor of our good friend, Ed.
Carol, our prayers are with you. May Ed rest in the peace of Christ.

One of the greatest Men and Doctors that I ever had the pleasure of working with, He is the only person I knew that could loose his cell phone immediately after talking on it. I cant tell you how many times he had to call the phone from the Hyperbaric Clinic and I would have to go to the truck and listen for it.. He brought donuts every Friday to the office and he always complained because the donut shop shorted him one. His coffee and his breakfast was usually waiting when he got there if not the Stubborn old Indian Chief came out. One day he was looking up recipes on the computer and of course I had to ask what it was. Needless to say the next morning at 4am I was making Indian Fry Bread for the first time. The last time I saw him he reminded me that he still needed his squash when they got ready. He had a personality like none other and I will miss him dearly. Rest in Pease Doc..
