Obituary of Henry M. "Groovy-man" Leihr

Funeral services for Mr. Henry M. “Groovy-man” Leihr, age 61, of Collinston, LA are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Wooden officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 3 p.m. Wednesday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Leihr, a retired welder and member of New Friendship Baptist Church, passed away May 9, 2016. He was a member of the Local Union 798 Pipeliners and a U.S. Marine veteran. He loved fishing and was a wonderful husband, son, daddy, poppa and friend to all. Mr. Leihr is survived by his wife, Joyce Leihr; mother, Grace Leihr of Oak Grove, LA; two children, Melissa Leihr of Bastrop, LA, McKenzie Leihr of West Monroe, LA, two step-children, Stephanie Riles of Bastrop, LA, Jeremy Bridges and wife Pam of Bastrop, LA; sister, Phyllis Plumley and husband Randy of Pioneer, LA; brother, Danny “Dano” Leihr of Oak Grove, LA,; grandchildren, Leihr Bahreini, Madalin Bridges, Adalee Bridges, Gage Riles, Bradi Reese Conville and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his dad, Henry Leihr and sister, Beverly Leihr Hammett. Serving all pallbearers are: Jerry Clingen, Eric Brown, Kyle Sanford, John Paul Garner, Victor Sanchez and Lance Leihr.
