Obituary of Myrtis Chunn Hofford

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtis Chunn Hofford are scheduled for 3 PM, Friday, June 3, 2016 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. Seth Williamson and Rev. Stewart Robinette officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday night from 5 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Hofford, age 83, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Coy Hofford, Sr.; parents, George and Jewel Chunn; brother, James Chunn and wife, Lorene; and sisters, Betty Ruth Turner, and Daisy Bennett. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Henderson and husband Doyle of Sheridan, AR; son, Coy Hofford, Jr. and wife Karen of Petit Jean Mountain, AR; sisters, Elois Breland, and husband Bernie; grandchildren, Myrtis Marie McCalister and husband Preston, Stephanie Hooker and husband Marc, Joshua Hofford and wife Cassie; great grandchildren, Chase McCalister and wife Morgan, Kyle McCalister, Cory McCalister, Lauren Hooker, Sarah Hooker, Alyssa Hofford and Fianna Hofford; great-great grandchildren Grayson Laith Hooker and Ann Marie McCalister, to be born in July; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hofford was a very faithful member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Sheridan, AR and active in all the churches she belonged to during her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and was the matriarch of the family. She loved to garden, was a canner and loved animals. Pallbearers will be; Josh Hofford, Preston McCalister, Marc Hooker, Caleb Brown, Kyle McCalister and Chase McCalister. Cory McCalister will serve as honorary pallbearer.
