Obituary of Arrie Woods

Arrie Woods, of Bastrop, LA entered into her eternal home on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the age of 83. The funeral service will be held at Golden Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM service time. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery for her final resting place. Arrie was born in Oak Grove, LA on January 13, 1933. She married the love of her life, Billy Woods on November 22, 1953. They made their home in Bastrop. Arrie enjoyed working the concession stand at the many baseball games she attended with Bill, as a baseball coach and son Billy, playing. She was also a big supporter of the VFW with activities as Easter egg hunts, bingo, as well as other numerous activites. Mom will be greatly missed. She demonstrated honor, love, and commitment to all who knew her. She truly enjoyed being a wife and mother. Arrie is survived by her brother, Frank Zagar and wife Becky; children, Dora Wallace and husband Claude, Billy Woods, Jr. and wife Penny; grandchildren, Heather, Nicholas, Michael, Jacob, Sean, and Bradley, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Iva Zagar; husband, Bill Woods; brothers, Johnny, Buddy and Burnice Zagar. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of America.
