Some of my best memories of my years at PVA were thanks to Mrs. Simmons. We had a great connection because I loved to read almost as much as she did. I remember her always being nice to me and always having a smile on her face. I am sorry for your loss I know she had to be a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Aunt.

To the family of Mrs. Simmons my condolences for the loss of your loved one. Even though we experience the pains of death we can never get used to its sting. That is why the scripture assures us at Isaiah 25: 8 "He will swallow up death forever". Hosea 13:14 says "Where is your sting O death"? Soon sickness, pain, death, and sorrow will be no more (Rev. 21:4). Then Acts 24:15 says there is going to be a resurrection. May these scriptural truths bring you comfort in the days ahead.

I sat here reading through the messages left for my Sweet Beautiful Aunt, with tears streaming down my cheeks. She was there for me through many life experiences, joys and heartaches. I loved her so very much. I know my cousins are as I am having a hard time wrapping our heads around her sudden passing. She filled such a void for me after my Mom and Dads passing, she was my second Mom. I will miss our bi-weekly contacts by phone or Facebook she always checked on my family and I.
I pray that God comforts my cousins in the days ahead and that daily function and sleeping becomes easier, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

My most sincere condolences at Nellie's passing. Had I known I would have been at visitation to honor her memory and pay respect. She will be greatly missed, such a wonderful lady. I enjoyed running into her from time to time, usually at the library. As we had known each other for a long time. May our Comforter be with all your family in a special way

My thoughts are with all of you kids as you cope with the loss of your mother. Know that all of you are in my heart, thoughts and prayers. I will miss Nellie so much. I've known her since I was in high school and she taught at BHS. Then we taught together at PVA and have tried to keep in touch all of these years. She taught my children. She is one of the sweetest most precious people that I've ever known. She will be greatly missed by many of her students, co workers and friends. She was all three to me. Hugs in heaven Nellie. My heart aches for your sad and sudden loss. We never know what a day will bring, but I know neither you, nor those of us who followed Nellies decline, thought we would lose her. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We are praying God's peace, comfort, strength for you during this most difficult time. A mother is someone you tend to think of as always there - and it's hard to go on when that one who was always there for you is absent. As I said, both A.P. and I are heart-broken for you.

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Nellie's death. She was one of the dearest ladies I have known. I worked with her at Bastrop High for a number of years and she came to mean a great deal to me. I know that she will be missed by her family and friends. I cannot be there for the funeral, but I want her family to know that I will be praying for peace and comfort. I know that she is in a beautiful place right now.
