Funeral services for Mr. Clyde Wilton Halterman, Jr are scheduled for 10 AM, Monday, January 16, 2017, at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Phillip McCready officiating. Mr. Halterman, a resident of Bastrop, was born September 3, 1937, and passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the age of seventy-nine. Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time on Monday.
Mr. Halterman is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Marie and T. O. Montgomery, father and step-mother, Clyde Sr. And Evelyn Halterman, and stepson, Donnie Harris.
He is survived by his wife of thirty six years, Lucille Halterman; sons, Mark Halterman, and wife Darlene, Richard Halterman, and Robert Harris; step-daughter, Julie Buchan; brothers, Archie Halterman, Simmie Halterman, and Jerry Lynn Halterman; sisters, Patricia Halterman, Margaret Halterman, and Carolyn Anderson; grandchildren, Billy Joe Halterman, Brad Halterman, Anna Watson, Daniel Harris, Ethan Harris, Dillon Merryweather, and Olivia Harris; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Halterman, Payton Halterman, and Jaxon Halterman.
Mr. Halterman was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served his country from 1954 - 1958, and a retiree of International Paper Company, where his career spanned from 1958 - 1999. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.
