Obituary of Mary Rose Stephens

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Rose Stephens, age 88, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, March 24, 2017 at First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jason Beard, Rev. Scott Carroll and Rev Dwight Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Start Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, March 24 from 1 PM until 2 PM service time at First Untied Pentecostal Church, where she was a longtime member. Mrs. Stephens, a retired employee of Walmart, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017. She loved crocheting, sewing, quilting, gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Retha Kitchens and husband Johnny of Ellisville, MS, Margaret Martin and husband Robby of West Monroe, LA; son, Michael C. "Mike" Stephens and wife Diane of Bastrop, LA; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Margaret Hogan; husband, Clyde Stephens; son, Kenny Stephens; brothers, O.W. Hogan, W.J. Hogan, Daniel Hogan, Ervin Hogan, George Hogan, David Hogan; sisters, Thelma Franklin, Vera Franklin, Mildred Goodchild; grandchildren, Casey Myers and Jamey Carroll. Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Stephens grandchildren.
