I am one of the many who knew Mary through the library and then the Humane Society. Since my mother, Joyce Ford, worked with MHS, I of course followed her into it. Through many bake sales and garage sales I was blessed to spend time with Mary! She was always a positive, uplifting force...always had a smile for you. Her love of animals, as well as people, was always evident. She will be missed by so many!

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She was a neighbor to us back when we were all children on Howard Lane in LP. She will be missed in her community. God bless to all the family

I offer my heartfelt condolences to one of my oldest friends who I met at Northeast Louisiana State College in 1966 as a 17year old yankee ( from NYC) leaving home for the first time to attend college in a part of the country I did not know. I was so nervous. But Mary, who was a neighbor of my Roommate Jackie Mills, made to feel comfortable in their homes and graciously made an honorary family member. Mr and Mrs. Hodgkins and Mr. and Mrs. Mills felt like parents to me and Carol Hodgkins Scott was so much fun to be around. I loved hosting Mary when she came to NYC to visit me and she instantly became a family member in my home.
I will miss my friend dearly. And I am glad that she was in my life.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mary's family. Mary was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. She was a joy to be talk with and be around. My heart is saddened about this news. She will truly be missed by so many.
