When you thought about ministers who served in Louisiana, Bro Tuck was one of the first who came to mind. His longtime faithful consistent service to Christ inspired us. Bro Tuck was a friend to all and especially to pastors and evangelists. He was kind, generous, and wise. He will be missed.

When you can remember the exact moment you met someone -- almost 50 years later -- you know they made an impression. I met Bro. Tuck and Mrs. Barbara while attending GA Camp at Camp Harris, Minden, LA. It was a warm summer day and we were enjoying lunch. He and Mrs. Barbara were seated at the next table and as introductions were made, he broke out in a great big grin and said, "Well now, I know your folks!" Yes, he and Mrs. Barbara knew my folks, but more importantly, from that moment on they knew me, they loved me, they prayed for me, they encouraged me and most recently, they comforted me. I loved them back with all my heart! Now, I write to remind Mrs. Barbara of my love for her and my prayers as she grieves the death of our beloved, Bro. Tuck. May you feel God's presence in a mighty way and know that we are all praying for you.

Mrs Barbara ,
Your husband was such a special person. He touched so many lives. One couple that he and you touched were my grandparents (Beverly and Joy Boudreaux). They enjoyed having y'all for their neighbors. Y'all became part of the Boudreaux family whether you realized it or not. That will forever mean so much to me. One thing for certain is he is in Heaven worshiping our Lord and Savior at the throne of God. I will continue to pray for you. He will be greatly missed. I just want you to know how much the two of you mean to me.

Brother Tuck Roberts was a wonderful man, and an inspiration to me. Over the years, we heard him preach many a powerful sermon. He was a Godly man with a great gift.
In 2001, Brother Tuck, as I knew him, preached the funeral for my Maternal Grandfather, Edward Patterson. I had to make a speech before he and Brother Dwain Monk delivered their messages. I told both gentlemen, as we approached the pulpit area that "I was getting emotional." Brother Tuck said "we need some emotion." In his message about my Paw-Paw, who had been my surrogate Dad for 13 years, Brother Tuck conveyed the true Christian man that Edward had been for his entire life. I will never forget this quote from Brother Tuck: "On the last day there are a whole lot of somebodies who will be nobody, and a whole lot of nobodies who will be somebody." WOW.
In 2005, Brother Tuck preached the Homecoming service for MawMaw Patterson. It was another beautiful sermon by this fine man. Brother Tuck never forgot who we were, and it meant the world to me. The last time I saw Brother Tuck and his lovely bride was at Mane Street Fish House. I told him how much those sermons meant to me. He referred to my Paw Paw as "Brother Ed." He said, "Kevin, Brother Ed was one of the last of The Mohicans. He was one of a kind."
We will miss you, Brother Tuck, but we will see you soon. Thank you for being there for my family.
To Mrs. Roberts, and all of Brother Tuck's family, our heartfelt condolences go out to you in your loss. Brother Tuck is loved by many, including my family and myself. We love you, and may God Bless you at this time.

As many if you know, Charlotte's brother Dale is developmentally disabled. Several years ago, he was traveling with his parents when they ran into Bro. Tuck and Miss Barbara at Cracker Barrel in Meridian, Miss. EVERY time he saw Dale after that, Bro. Tuck asked Dale if he remembered that. It made Dale feel special. Among the many gifts he had was to make everyone feel special, like you were his best friend. He didn't just touch: Bro. Tuck shaped many, many lives. I'm saddened for our loss and especially saddened for Mrs. Barbara. I'm joyful, though, that he got to finally see the Savior he pointed people to for almost 60 years.

One of my favorite songs he sang, the first time I heard him sing it, was "Just Inside The Eastern Gate" at Temple Baptist Church on the south side of Monroe.
