Obituary of James Stephens
Funeral services for Mr. James Stephens, age 72, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Stephens, a retired employee of Georgia Pacific, Crossett, AR, and member of Hughes Chapel Methodist Church, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Mr. Stephens served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was always very active in his church and was a Christian man who loved God and his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Stephens; two daughters, Detra Stephens Wilson and husband George of Panama City Beach, FL, Angela Pool Gregory and husband John of Bastrop, LA; two sons, Kevin Stephens and wife Debbie of Norman, AR, David Pool of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Pat Durmon and husband Ricky of Vidor, TX, Becky Yates of Bastrop, LA; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Stephens is preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Audrey Stephens; two sisters, Virgia Brodnax, Jo Fern Cook and a brother, Willie Powell Stephens.
