Obituary of Bruce Lowery

Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Lowery, age 77, are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Dalyn Helbling officiating. Interment wil follow in Beekman Cemetery.

Mr. Lowery, a member of Ebenezer Full Gospel Church, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was the founder and owner of Lowery Furniture on Van Avenue. He enjoyed his work, playing the piano, drums, bass guitar and always loved singing and witnessing for the Lord. Mr. Lowery enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved his great grandchildren and his grandchildren and they were his heart.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Lowery; daughter, Kathy Harris and husband W.B. of Bastrop, LA; son, Bruce W. Lowery and wife Debbie of Bastrop, LA; sister, Betty Jean Rogers of Vaughn, LA; grandchildren, Tabitha Chapman and husband Jay, Nina Shelton and husband Branton, Nathanael Lowery, Sarah Cheek and husband Jason, Leah Robinson; great grandchildren, Analise Shelton, Adelaide Shelton, Ainsley Shelton, Eion Robinson and numerous neices and nephews.

Mr. Lowery is preceded in death by his parents, William Orum Lowery and Elsie Bryan Lowery; brothers, J.L. Lowery, Billy Lowery and Charles Lowery; sister, Elizabeth Ann Aud; and special nephew, Michael G. Aud.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Bruce W. Lowery, Nathanael Lowery, W.B. Harris, Branton Shelton, Ken Hutchison and Jason Cheek.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6 from 12 noon - 2 PM service time at Goldens.
