I was sad to hear of the passing on Mr. Brandon, but I know he is now running through the great outdoors enjoying all of its beauty and what it has to offer with great delight with his Heavenly Father. He was such a man of integrity and loved spending time with his family. I have such fond memories of growing up in the old neighborhood with the Brandon family. Lots of laughs, fun, and love! Prayers for the family as you hold on to your memories and celebrate his life. He will be greatly missed.

My dear Brandons,
Thinking of you and praying for your family at this sad time. I have such lovely memories of "Uncle Merwin." He had a quick smile, and he loved to add laughter to our times together. As I write this, I am actually down in Orange Beach on a trip, so close to the beloved beach house in Gulf Shores! I'm glad that my folks have spent these last few years close to y'all and made more fun memories with Merwin and Martha. May God comfort you and remind you of all of the strength, compassion, and love that Merwin shared with you and with others!

Several years ago I was at the Desert Plantation in Pinckneyville, Mississippi and quite by accident found it to be in Merwin's family. When asked where I was from , the owner immediately responded by asking if I knew Merwin and his family. A lovely place, it is to be checked out when in the St. Francisville area. I can thank Tommy Rolfe for introducing us--and then we found we all loved animals! Merwin was an asset to the Morehouse Parish Library when he was on the board. I'm grateful to have known him.

I had the privilege of first meeting Judge Brandon when I was working my way through college at the law office of Woodrow Wilson. I always admired him and the way he made me feel just as important as any other person even though I was only 18 and had a lot to learn about the law and life. No matter where I saw him later in life, he always carried himself with such dignity and greeted me with the same respect he always had. Frances, I think you get that same quality from your dad. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you will miss him. You and your family are in my prayers. Love you, Lisa May

Martha and family, my prayers for comfort are with you in the loss of Merwin. As a man devoted to his Faith in God, we know that as Billy Graham had stated before his passing that he has just changed addresses to Heaven! Merwin was a thoughtful man and very kind to me and my young family when we moved to Bastrop 30 years ago. Bastrop was fortunate to have Merwin and his family here to help enrich the community on many levels.

Sincere condolences to the Brandon family! What a fine, upstanding gentleman he was! I will always fondly remember several encounters with the Judge & Martha at Tujaque's in New Orleans, while they were enjoying a meal and I was finishing up guiding a cocktail tour in the French Quarter. We were always so happy to see each-others "Bastrop faces" in perhaps unfamiliar places. Godspeed!

Dear Brandon Family,
I have many fond memories of the Judge from my years at Prairie View and during my law enforcement days. Judge Brandon was always willing to help out our narcotics unit by signing search warrants and providing valuable legal assistance. I always admired his commitment to our 2nd amendment and his support of the NRA. He was a pillar of this community and he will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
