Obituary of Billy Wayne Ray

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Wayne Ray, age 65, of Monroe, LA, formerly of Bastrop, are scheduled for 3:30 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery.

Mr. Ray, a retired Millwright for Breck Construction, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018. He loved riding motorcycles and enjoyed riding in the Ride for Hope Cancer Run and other fund raising rides. Mr. Ray rode 4-wheelers in his younger days and enjoyed dancing. He Loved life.

Mr. Ray is survived by his wife, Debra Larche; daughter, Delana Denise Ray; sisters, Alice Counts and Brenda Cameron; brother, James Ray; grandchildren, Jonathan Price, Hailey Ray, Heather Ray, Kirsten Ray and Tori Ray.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lovelle and Marylon Ray and son, Toby Ray.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Jordan Hospice and especially to nurse Erica and nurse’s aide Jene.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Roger Brixey, Kenny Davidson, Chipper West, Wayne Deshazo, Ray Pentico, Danny Coker, Mark Ingram, Mike Keen and Brad Wimbish.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 6 PM - 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
