Obituary of Lillian E. Reitzell

Graveside funeral services for Lillian E. Reitzell are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Clegg officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reitzell, a homemaker and attendee of the Church of God Prophecy, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the age of 87.  She enjoyed cooking when she was younger, camping and having company. Mrs. Reitzell will be greatly missed by all of her family.

She is survived by her companion, Elmer Stanford; sisters, Jean Freeland Silk and husband Shelby of Rayville, LA, Janet Freeland Pearson and husband Buddy of Monroe, LA; brother, Jerry Freeland of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Melanie Sheets and husband Will of Texarkana, AR; great grandchildren, Justin Brown of Prescott, AR, Lexie Musgrove of Bastrop, LA; nieces and nephews, Sherrie Temple McGraw and husband Rusty of Monroe, LA, Kim Silk Willis and husband Gabe of Rayville, LA, Steve Silk and wife Patricia of Rayville, LA, Greg Silk of Rayville, LA, and Jason Freeland of Bastrop, LA.

Mrs. Reitzell is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Reitzell; son, Allen Reitzell; father, William Jennings Freeland and her mother, Ella Hendrix Freeland; sister, Lola Temple.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dallas Crumley, Jason Freeland, Steve Silk, Greg Silk and Gabe Willis.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to an Alzheimer’s research foundation, an Epilepsy foundation or a charity of your choice.
