Funeral services for Mrs. Janie Mae Sisson Lowery are scheduled for 3 PM Sunday, May 20, 2018 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Beekman Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 PM - 3 PM service time at Goldens.

Janie Mae Sisson Lowery, a lifetime resident of Morehouse Parish, departed this world at the age of 86, on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in comfort and surrounded by family. She was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, of Bastrop.

Mrs. Lowery is survived by her children, Gary Lowery, Steve Lowery, Betty Lowery Castleberry, and William Ray Lowery; her brother, D.W. Sisson; her sisters, Patsy Sisson Warren and Francis Sisson Faulkenberry. She was blessed with seventeen grandchildren, and in her words, “a whole slough of great grandchildren” and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, and the father of her children, John Lester Lowery; sons, Jimmy Lester Lowery, and Loyd Douglas Lowery; her parents, Herbert Allen Sisson, Sr., and Lila Jo Sisson; siblings, Herbert Allen Sisson, Jr., Roy Owen Sisson, Betty Sue Sisson Bryan, Mary Helen Sisson Vail, and Alice Sisson Buffington. She is also preceded in death by numerous grandchildren and other cherished relatives.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Timmy Lowery, Jason Lowery, Jerry Lowery, Terry Lowery, Josh Castleberry, and Anthony Johnson.
