Funeral services for Mr. Marvin R. Lowery, age 87, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with President Arlyn Richard and Bro. Ronald Oden officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Lowery, a retired employee of International Paper Company, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Lowery enjoyed helping others, fishing and working in the church.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Ann Wilkinson of Mulberry, AR; sons, Marvin Ray Lowery, Jr and wife Nancy Carol of Bastrop, James Roy Lowery and wife Connie of Cleveland, TX, Charles Lee Lowery and wife Annie Mae of Bastrop, LA, Arthur Lowery and wife Barbara of Hamburg, AR; sister, Mary Ruth Outlaw of Bastrop, LA; half-brothers, George Paul Lowery and wife Trish of Texarkana, TX, Ted Lowery and wife Gail of Mer Rouge, LA; sixteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lowery is preceded in death by his wife, Annis Laura Trim Lowery; parents, James Thelmer and Mary Eunice Lowery; step-mother, Eulene Lowery; half-sister, Zurlene Lowery; son-in-law, Rick Wilkinson and step-sister, Anna Sue Aaron and her husband Bill.

Serving the family as pallbearers are William Lowery, Dave Lowery, Jeffery Lowery, Daniel Guyewski, Devon Lowery, Ronald Uptigrove and Bill Ober will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
