Obituary of Jimmy Lamar Schoolfield, Sr
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Lamar Schoolfield, age 62, a retired carpenter, are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, August 3, 2018 at Stevenson Cemetery with Bro. Charlie McLain officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 12 noon - 1 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Schoolfield, a retired carpenter, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Alexandria, LA. He enjoyed hunting, especially coon and squirrel, fishing and woodworking. He loved cooking and gathering family together. Mr. Schoolfield spent time gardening and loved any animals, especially dogs and birds. He was known for his chicken “Hotels”.
He is survived by his daughter, Dewan Jenkins and husband Rick of Wisconsin; son, Jimmy Lamar Schoolfield, Jr of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Seth Allen Jenkins, Raegan Jenkins, Korbin James Schoolfield, Kaitlynn Joan Schoolfield, Richard Lamar Schoolfield; favorite uncle, Lyn “Andy” Allen and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mr. Schoolfield is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Irma Mae Talley Allen; mother, Bobbie Bunch; father, Benny Schoolfield, Sr; sister, Belinda Schoolfield; brothers, Benny Schoolfield and George Schoolfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to help with funeral expenses.
