Obituary of Dorris B. Brown
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorris B. Brown are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, September 2, 2018, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Causey Cemetery. Mrs. Brown, a resident of Pine Bluff, AR, and a former resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the age of ninety-one.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Bastrop High School, and attended University of Louisiana at Monroe. She was very devoted to her family. She loved cross stitching and knitting.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice A. Brown; daughter, Patricia Ann Peacock; twin brother, Johnny L. Braswell, Jr.; parents, Johnny L. Braswell, Sr. and Dorris Naff Braswell; half-sisters, Nita Gray, Dorothy Lott, and Evelyn Jumper.
Survivors include her son, James A. “Jim” Brown and wife Pat of White Hall, AR; four grandchildren, Beth Patterson of McGhee, AR, James Peacock and wife Rachel of McGhee, AR, Michelle Campbell of White Hall, AR, Greg Russell and wife Shelly of Haskell, AR; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan Campbell of White Hall, AR, Zach Russell and wife Shelbi of Rison, AR, Ashley Campbell of White Hall, AR, Katelyn Rabb and husband Brad of Hamburg, AR, Hunter Patterson of McGhee, AR, Blake Patterson of McGhee, AR, J. J. Peacock of McGhee, AR, and Jocelyn Hobson of McGhee, AR; great-great-granddaughter, Sophie Rabb of Hamburg, AR; half-sister, Kathy Reid and a niece, Deborah Braswell, McCoy, of Waco, TX.
Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM service time.
