I was shocked and saddened to hear of Wesley’s passing. I would like to express my condolences to the family and pray for God’s peace to be with you all through this time of sorrow. I have a lot of memories of Wesley, we not only had good times on church events but I had the chance of working with him outside of church and he was the same never changed. Wes was a good man and it was a privilege to know him.

Dearest Maurice, I know you are reeling from the loss of your husband. This is something that one can never be completely prepared to face. Robert and I too were heartbroken when we learned of Wesley's death. We were blessed to count him a friend and considered you two a part of our extended family. We will always cherish the shared memories of your visits to Denver. Of course, I knew Wesley for over 50 years and have many happy memories of shared laughter and delightful visits. He was truly one of a kind - a true Southern gentleman. His drawl still echoes in my memory with his special perspective on life and what it meant to be a friend. We always agreed that it takes work to maintain a friendship. He was one of the hardest workers at that task that I have ever known. He had a way of making you feel special. I will miss his birthday call and his early Christmas card. Drying tears and breaking heart as I realize that he is actually gone from this earth. The only advise I can offer is to take one step at a time and tackle the task that faces you as you move forward. Wesley will NEVER be gone because he will live forever in our memory and in our hearts. We love you and are here when you need us.
Brad, Chad and Whit, I know I have not seen you in a long time, but your father kept me informed of your lives. He loved you all very much and was very proud of you. I am sorry for your loss. Take the lessons he taught you and move forward to become the men he knew you could become. God bless you.

I am so shocked to hear about Wesley. He was the very best friend I have ever had. He always visited my Mom in the nursing home in Ruston when he came through.. I could always talk to him when I had a problem I couldn’t figure out he helped me through it. I am going to miss him so much. He was the brother I never had even in school.
Don and family I am so sorry for your loss. With all my love and prayers. Judy Gibson
