Obituary of Dora Mae Wooden

Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Mae Wooden, age 92, are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Benson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2 PM at Goldens. Private interment will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Wooden, a homemaker, passed away December 16, 2018. She loved working in her garden and the beautiful flowers it produced. She also loved quilt making and canning. She was a member of Bonita Church of God.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Wooden of Bastrop, LA, Marilyn Wooden Adams of Bonita, LA, Vernon Wooden and wife Glenda of West Monroe, LA, Dennis Wooden and wife Susan of Oak Grove, LA; sister, Jimmie Petties of Monroe, LA; brother, Nonnie Crenshaw of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Mary Adams and husband Brandon Glenn of Monroe, LA, Bradley Adams of Bonita, LA, Stephen Adams of Bonita, LA, Angelina Wooden Hobson of Haughton, LA, Terry Wooden of West Monroe, LA, Laura Wooden Pittman and husband Hunter of Monroe, LA, Felicia Wooden of Oak Grove, Jonathan Wooden of Oak Grove; great grandchildren, Britny Birmingham and husband Adler, Zoey Hobson, Jacob Wooden, Hanna Gilbert, Harper Gilbert and Holton Wooden; great great grandchildren, Pierce Birmingham, Lisbet Birmingham and Celest Birmingham, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wooden is preceded in death by her husband, James Wooden; parents, Jim and Alice Crenshaw; step-father, Morgan Crenshaw; daughter, Elvira Wooden; sisters, Elvie Arlene Huff and Bert L. Blackwell; son-in-law, Kenneth “Buddy” Adams.
